BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAY:
Once you have located available dates that suit your holiday plans you will email us a request for those dates. Your reservation dates may show up on the availability calendar in yellow, pending receipt of a reservation deposit of €150. Your booking will only be secure once we have confirmed receipt of your payment.
Your reservation deposit will be held for the duration of your stay and becomes your security/ damage deposit. This will be refunded after checkout once the final cleaning and inventory check is complete. You agree to be a considerate tenant and to take good care of the property and to leave it in a reasonable condition at the end of the rental period. Banda do Sol reserves the right to use part or all of the security deposit to cover any additional cleaning/repair costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition, normal usage excluded.
PAYING FOR YOUR HOLIDAY:
Your confirmation email will contain an invoice detailing the cost of your holiday, and how payment can be made. Full payment for your holiday is required no later than 90 days before check-in. If you are making a reservation within the 90-day timeframe, full payment will be required at the time you make your reservation. (The reservation/security/damage deposit still applies).
CHANGES TO YOUR RESERVATION:
Should you need to change your reserved dates, we will work with you to accommodate your needs as far as possible. If you have to cancel your reservation please see the cancellation and refunds policy below.
In general, check-in occurs from 3pm on the date of your arrival, and check-out will occur by 10am on the day of your departure. These times are to accommodate cleaning and turn around between clients, and any requests for early check-in or late check-out may only be accommodated depending on other reservations.
Infants aged 2 and under may be accommodated in a separate travel cot.
* The sleeper couch in Stone Cottage is suitable for 1 adult or 2 children up to 12 years
EQUIPMENT & FACILITIES:
Each cottage is furnished and equipped to cater for the stated permitted occupancy and includes pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, etc. Major items of domestic equipment are listed in each individual cottage. All units except Stone Cottage share laundry facilities, located at the rear of Lavender Cottage, where a washing machine, iron and board are available for your use. Stone Cottage is equipped with its own laundry facilities. All utilities including water, electricity, high-speed Internet, satellite TV, and pool cleaning are also included in your rental.
Our cottages are supplied with duvets, pillows and bed linens, bath towels and mats, kitchen towels, pool/beach towels. None of our bath towels are to be taken to the beach please.
CLEANING & ACCESS TO THE ACCOMMODATION:
A full cleaning service will be conducted once a week. This service will restore the cottage to "check in state", including floor cleaning, full bathroom cleaning, fresh bed linens & towels, as clean as it was when you checked in. Banda do Sol reserve the right of entry to the accommodation units at all reasonable times for the purpose of inspection or maintenance.
Please do not smoke indoors. If you must smoke, please do so outdoors only, and dispose of butts etc. in the appropriate receptacles. Do not throw cigarette butts in the pool or gardens.
FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT:
We like to maintain a quiet relaxing atmosphere for the enjoyment of all our guests. The cottages are rented to adults or family groups only, who are expected to conduct themselves responsibly, and be considerate of other guests, particularly in the shared pool and garden areas. Absolutely no house parties or large functions are allowed without prior written permission, and the maximum number of occupants using the accommodations is not to be exceeded without prior permission. Banda do Sol reserves the right to remove, without refund, rowdy or disruptive guests at any time.
While Madeira's crime rate is appealingly low, we recommend our guests arrange a comprehensive travel insurance that covers personal belongings. Banda do Sol bears no responsibility for the damage, loss or theft of personal property. Guests are also responsible for securing their own belongings and locking their cottage when out and about.
No pets, please.
CANCELLING YOUR HOLIDAY, AND OUR REFUNDS POLICY:
If you think your holiday might be in jeopardy of being cancelled, we strongly recommend that you acquire travel insurance to cover you and provide peace of mind for unforeseen circumstances.
CANCELLATIONS BY BANDA DO SOL:
In the unlikely event that a property is not deemed suitable by Banda do Sol for your party, or a property becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. flood, fire, etc), Banda do Sol will reimburse the total amount paid by you for the rental of the property. Any third party costs, such as, but not limited to, flights, bus transfers, car rentals etc., will not be reimbursed by Banda do Sol under any circumstances.
